Town Historian Harold VanAken prepared a power point presentation about the beginnings of our town for the February 9 meeting of the Livingston Manor Chamber of Commerce. Those in attendance were informed of our past, From the native Americans, to our native son John R. Mott who won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1946. They also learned of the sun path, were treated to ancient maps and surveys of the area, as well as postcard photos and anecdotes of local people of interest. Aileen Gunther, assemblywoman, and Linda Cellini, YMCA representative, were also speakers at the dinner, held at King’s Catering. Roscoe Chamber of Commerce was invited and Rick Baxter and Mary Muhlig spoke of their desire to keep contact with LM to share our histories.
