Hall of Fame Inducts Six

LIVINGSTON MANOR – On October 8, 2011, in a ceremony held at the Catskill Fly Fishing Center and Museum, Doug Swisher and Carl Richards (posthumously), Cathy & Barry Beck, Roderick Haig-Brown (posthumously) and John Alden Knight (posthumously) were inducted into the International Fly Fishing Hall of Fame.
This honor is bestowed on those who have made a significant contribution to fly fishing and to the history of the sport for all.
Doug Swisher (Hamilton, MT), Cathy and Barry Beck (Benton, PA) were present to personally accept the award in addition to Alecia Richards and Celia Haig-Brown (accepting for deceased husband and father respectively). There were no family survivors to accept the award on behalf of John Alden Knight. Previous Hall of Fame recipients Joan Wulff, Mary Dette, Al Caucci and Art Lee were present for the ceremony.
The Catskill Fly Fishing Center and Museum is home to the Fly Fishing Hall of Fame; the Harold Demarest Bamboo Rodmakers Gallery; the Poul Jorgensen Golden Hook Award; the Catskill Rodmakers Gathering; and the Hardy/Greys Brothers Cup.
