Livingston Manor, NY – Excitement is building for Livingston Manor’s first Bird of Prey Day on Saturday, September 29 at the Livingston Manor Central School (LMCS). The event is hosted by Peter Chiavaro, a general falconer and resident of Livingston Manor. Dozens of bird of prey are expected to be on hand for the event, including falcons, hawks and owls.
“Bird of Prey Day could be a once in a life time opportunity for people to experience the world of raptors first hand. Licensed falconers will be on hand to answer questions and introduce the public to their birds”, said Bird of Prey Day host Chiavaro.
The public is invited to get close to these wild and powerful birds of prey throughout the day. A Birds of Prey Tent will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Demonstrations will be held in the LMCS gymnasium at 9:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. There is also a not to be missed flying event scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on the field.
A variety of craft and food vendors will be on the grounds at LMCS. Many businesses on and around Main Street will also be offering special events and offers for Bird of Prey Day including the CAS Arts Center, Flour Power Bakery & Café, the Livingston Manor Library, Madison’s Main Street Stand, Main Street Farm, Morgan Outdoors, The Plunk Shop, Rolling River Café and Gallery, Wildlife Gift Shop and Willow and Brown.
