Terrariums at the Library, Register by January 11

10-terrarium1The Livingston Manor Library will host a terrarium-building workshop by Master Gardener Mia Koerner on Saturday, February 2 from 10:30 a.m. to noon. The Merriam Webster Dictionary defines a terrarium as “a transparent enclosure for keeping or raising small plants … indoors.” You will learn to care for your terrarium and watch the plants grow, creating a beautiful, enclosed forest of foliage. The terrarium can be built in a large plastic pretzel container, a large glass fish bowl, a small aquarium tank or any other transparent container large enough to hold at least 3 small plants. Consider building a terrarium as a Valentines gift!

A fee of $20 is required to cover the cost of the plants, soil, charcoal, gravel and moss. Please register in the library by January 11 so the plants can be ordered on time. Payment may also be mailed to Livingston Manor Library, 92 Main Street, Livingston Manor, NY 12758. For more information, call 845-439-5440.
