Trains on Main will roll into town for the 7th annual year starting this Saturday, November 29.
This nostalgic trip back in time features handmade model trains on view in windows on Livingston Manor’s Main Street including the CAS Arts Center (48 Main Street), the Laundry King (65 Main Street) and Morgan Outdoors (46 Main Street).
The Catskill Art Society is hosting a special Grand Opening party from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Saturday. Stop by and see the miniature trains up close, talk to the model builders, and listen to live music from Paul Lounsbury and Friends!
At 1:00 p.m., model train maker Charlie Irace and speakers from the O&W Museum will gather for a talk at the Laundry King. They will unveil a historical display of real train artifacts, gear, signage, clothing, and more. Their discussion will bring to life the evolution of train travel and its impact on Sullivan County life in its heyday.
At 2:00 p.m., look for the model trains to debut at the CAS Arts Center with free candy for kids.
At 3:00 p.m., musician Paul Lounsbury and Friends will play a special set of songs inspired by the romantic train culture, back at the Laundry King. All ages are welcome.
Trains on Main will be on display at the CAS Arts Center, the Laundry King and Morgan Outdoors through December 29.
