So Much to Do

3 Christopher ManningThe calendar might show mid January but there is plenty to do in Livingston Manor.

The Catskill Art Society’s 2015 Exhibition Season begins this weekend with “Flux,” an exhibition of photography and installation art by Claire Breidenbach, Christopher Manning, and Cathleen Parra at the CAS Arts Center, 48 Main Street. Make sure to catch the Artist Talk at 2:00 p.m. this Saturday, January 17. A reception will follow from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. – there is no cost to attend and all are welcome.

According to CAS, this exhibition combines the work of these three emerging talents in a striking and often unexpected blend. Elements of the familiar, embedded in swaths of light and shadow, draw us into abstract dimensions of expression that cry out to be experienced. “Flux” runs through February 15.

More fun for the whole family! The ice rink at Rotary Park, Pleasant Street will be open all weekend: Friday, January 16 from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m., and then Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 12:00 to 6:00 p.m.

The 56th Annual Livingston Manor Rotary Ice Carnival takes place next weekend with events scheduled from Friday, January 23 to Sunday, January 25. Visit the Ice Carnival’s Facebook page for the complete schedule.
