Sounds like more snow is headed our way, but first there should be some time to enjoy:
Art.Write.Now.Tour 2014-15, a nationwide traveling exhibition showcasing more than 130 original pieces of art and writing from the teen winners of the 2014 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, opens tomorrow, February 21 at the CAS Arts Center, 48 Main Street. CAS is hosting an opening reception from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. There is no cost to attend, all are welcome and light refreshments will be served. “Finn Does Not Like Bowling” by Elinor Hills, is shown above. Morgan Outdoors also has a special exhibit on the life and extinction of the passenger pigeon, sponsored by John Burroughs’ Woodchuck Lodge in Roxbury, NY, opening tomorrow. The exhibit was developed by the Chicago Museum of Science and will be on display through April 10.
Make sure to grab something for breakfast, lunch or dinner while you’re here. There are also some fantastic sales around town as some of your favorite shops make room for new, dare we say it, Spring merchandise!
