Garden Day: May 16

garden-day_2015Save the date for the 2nd Annual Garden Day, coming up Saturday, May 16.

Join us for a day full of fun with events and vendors along Main Street from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Look for educational materials and goods for sale to include flowering bedding plants, chair planters, vegetables, wind chimes, garden solar lights, honey, maple syrup, terrariums, bird houses, Audubon Society, art work, planters, tools, advice from master gardeners, baked goods, lemonade, organic produce and eggs, outdoor furniture and bird feeders.

There is no cost to attend. There will also be an art contest for school age artists and a raffle. The Schedule of Events includes:

10:00 a.m. Introduction & Welcome by Kitty Vetter
Lecture Series Begins at the CAS Arts Center
10:00 Greg Lotorto, Landscape Designer of Bethel Woods
11:00 John Evans, Superintendent of Roscoe Central School. Discusses Community Garden and how to introduce gardens to children.
12:00 noon Harpist Jan Hirsch plays during the lunch break
1:00 Carolyn Summers, author and lecturer of Native Planting for the Northeast
2:00 Paul Blanton, landscaper. Demonstration of practical tips of the trade and short cuts.
3:00 Live Music by Darren Steele and Moon Sauce
