Orange & Hunting Tips from Morgan Outdoors

Our annual ritual is to stay out of the woods on Opening weekend of “regular” deer hunting season – Nov. 19 and 20If you want to hike – Try trails at a local park instead, like Walnut Mountain in Liberty, NY, where hunting is prohibited. Morgan Outdoors sells bright orange bandanas, hats and vests so you’re easy to see.

wear blaze orange – not white, which could be mistaken for a deer’s upturned tail.

And put a blaze orange bandana around your dog’s neck!
don’t hike in areas that are popular with hunters
pay more attention on the trail, listening to sounds; not talking so much.

Oct 1 – Dec 20  Small and big game hunting seasons continue through December.

Regular deer season is Nov. 19 – Dec. 11 http://www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/28605.html
