Papa Tony's Tree Hut. Or "The Tree Hut" as many
local folks still refer to it, has a history dating back
to the 1920's. This particular location has been transformed
from a garage and gas station, to a bait and tackle shop,
to a snowmobile shop and finally to its present status,
a restaurant. In the 1960's it became a pizza and sandwich
deli. The owners at that time, The Madison's, built a
deck around a huge sycamore tree at the entrance to the
building and gave it the name "Tree Hut".
These days, "The Tree Hut" is where the new
owner, Tony Risicato (Papa Tony), takes great pride in
making his delicious and traditional pizza. The menu includes
succulent, fresh roast beef and roast pork made daily
on the premises. In addition, you can find an extensive
variety of hot and cold sandwiches served with lots of
TLC. There are seasonal homemade soups, salads, desserts,
and soft-serve ice cream. We are located on Old Route
17 by the famous Willowemoc River, just before you turn
onto Main Street. Besides Papa Tony's delectable food
and jovial conversation, the "Tree Hut" provides
you the opportunity to eat-in, take-out, or picnic on
their outdoor tables wile enjoying a river view.
