Instructor Karin Houeland will introduce you to the basics (and/or intermediate level) of jewelry beadwork allowing each student to explore their own creativity through the use of various color schemes and materials. Throughout the 4 weeks, you will be designing a necklace, a bracelet, and earrings while exploring different techniques. Material fees included in price. Non-members $130; Members $115

Find your own creative means of expression and your own sense of flexibility through learning to manipulate clay in a way that shows individuality and fluidity, without the symmetrical restrictions and technical challenges of the potters' wheel. The basic methods of pinch, coil, and slab will be covered, along with interesting ways to embellish and add texture by pressing fabric, objects (shells, buttons, etc.) and clay stamps into the moist clay forms. 6-week class. Beginner and advanced teens and adults will learn hand-building techniques to create a figurative head in clay. The form is developed with coils of clay to create a hollow shell to be fired and glazed or stained. Realistic to abstract expressions of human feeling are encouraged and explored. 5 Sessions. This course explores the history and techniques of creating works of art through the medium of video, and the conceptual ideas behind the modern phenomena of sound and visual installation art. Utilizing computer software and techniques and outside the computer environment, students will be encouraged to think about their own art practice and how this would translate to the screen. This class will explore the use of photographic references as a source for painting using elements that make visual work strong: composition, color, line, shape, dark and light, and using the brush to express a visual voice. Summerfest and Jubilee Day

The Catskill Fly Fishing Center will come alive at 8:30AM with the opening of the Anglers Market, Summerfest and Jubilee Day that will include many local civic organizations, health centers, farmers produce market, crafts and games for kids. The days activities will include a “kids only (12 and under) fishing derby” with prizes. Kids should bring their own tackle and favorite baits. Mike Canazon and the Bamboo Guys will host a bamboo rod casting clinic, The Fly Fishing Antique Roadshow, The Great Willowemoc 50/50 fish race at 1:30 and cake will immediately follow. There is more…live fiddle music, BBQ, petting zoo, pony rides, and guaranteed fun for all.
